Why Use a Handcream

June 15th, 2009 | admin | General

We buy hand cream or hand lotion to moisturize and soften the skin. Most people using mass produced commercial hand care products will say that their hands are not as soft or conditioned as they might like….. no matter how many applications of hand cream or hand lotion that they use!

Mass produced handcreams generally are produced using petroleum based ingredients such as Petroleum, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil. Liquid Paraffin, etc.
This might be good for cars, industrial work places and machinery but they are certainly not helpful in the skincare department!

Handcream with all natural ingredients is the best for you.
Why?….because it works and you want the handcream that you buy to actually work for you day in day out.

How will that happen if you put petroleum base products on your skin. These tend to dry out the skin.  Think about those things that you would imagine would soften and feed your skin.
Consider oils rich in vitamins, such as Olive Oil, Organic Thistle Oil, Almond Oil . These will be more soothing to your skin than skin drying mineral oils from the petroleum industry?  For example Mineral oil (Liquid Paraffin, Petrolatum….the clue is in the word its self… PETROL…. comes from crude oil)

Handcreams with such ingredients may be much cheaper to buy but surely your hands deserve the best care they can get…there are all natural products.

Would vegetable Gylcerin be nicer to place on your skin than animal Glycerin (usually from pork or beef carcasses)?
Would real Vitamin E be better on your skin than synthetic Vitamin E?
Do you not think that all natural Essential Oils might be kinder on your skin than petroleum based mass produced artificial perfumes or Parfum.

Essential Oils will feed your skin on your skin rather than the potentially irritating your kin with petroleum based perfumes?  Remember that our skin is the largest organ in our body.

If you agree then please look for hand cream that has been hand made with care and attention and not cheaply massed produced. Look for blends Essential Oils that have been blended together synergistically and which use the benefits of flowers and herbs to help heal, soothe and calm dry, rough and maybe cracked skin.  You do deserve the best and it can be done with all natural products.
Also look for handcreams in glass jars and companies that have a positive recycling programme.  We really do not need to add millions of empty tubes of handcream to landfill every day.

The thickness of our skin varies greatly from the eyelids (0.5mm thick) to the hands and the soles of the feet (up to 5mm thick) yet a quality all natural hand cream does provide safe nurturing healing effects on all thickness of skin.
