Home Remedies For Wart Removal
Most people get a wart at some time in their lives, some more than others but
they aren’t often more than just a nuisance factor and aren’t generally considered
to be harmful. Although warts, which are caused by the hpv virus, don’t usually
present a serious health hazard and can sometimes clear up by themselves over
time, nevertheless they are rather unsightly and more and more people are
turning to quick and easy treatments to get rid of warts. There is actually no
pressing need to treat warts if they aren’t causing any problems and often the
search for a remedy stems purely from cosmetic reasons. For some this may
represent a major advance in increasing their self esteem.
Removing warts by freezing them is a popular treatment and many health
practitioners are skilled at it. This kind of wart removal can even be done at
home using products purchased online or over the counter.
The basis of this type of medication is either a spray containing liquid nitrogen or
an application of salicylic acid. There are a variety of lotions and other products
like specially impregnated plasters on the market that contain salicylic acid or
thes may be prescribed by your doctor. These need to be applied regularly and
over a number of weeks, up to 12, as the acid gradually burns away the wart
together with your help and a bit of regular abrasion. You will need to make sure
you don’t let the acid come near to or touch your face which is more sensitive
than other areas of the body and could scar more easily. It is a good idea to
protect the surrounding skin by rubbing in some vaseline before you apply the
acid treatment.
Freezing with liquid nitrogen is a slightly quicker option, taking up to 2 months
rather than the 3 it takes with the salicylic option. Usually a small blister will
develop after applying the liquid nitrogen spray and there may be some minimal
scarring. Some people find this method of treatment quicker but a little more
painful.
If neither of these solutions appeal there are other treatments and home remedies
available such as the popular ‘duct tape’ method, hypnosis, aloe vera and even
banana peel! Please bear in mind that home remedies for wart removal are not
always guaranteed, because what works for someone else does not always mean
it will also work for you. However, with the great variety of home remedies
available to choose from, you are quite likely to find at least one remedy that
suits you and succesfully gets rid of your warts.
